Job summary

Network Connex Company is seeking a Field Survey Technician to gather field data for fiber optic projects, performing surveys of poles, handholes, and routes while documenting conditions and make-ready requirements. The role requires frequent travel and may progress into more advanced engineering tasks.

Primary duties include collecting field data for aerial and underground designs, using survey tools, and preparing project reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Entry-level telecommunications outside plant engineering experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and surveys of poles, handholes, manholes, pedestals, building entrances, and proposed fiber routes while documenting conditions, violations, and make-ready requirements.
• Collect, verify, and document field data required for aerial and underground fiber designs, pole attachment applications, buried-facility applications, and outside plant route selection.
• Use survey tools and technology to gather accurate project information and support engineering, construction, and design activities.
• Prepare project documentation, field reports, and time records while supporting project administration and tracking requirements.
