Job summary

Gibraltar Fabrication is seeking a Field Survey Technician to perform surveying at active construction sites, supporting layout, grading, utilities, and more. You will collect and analyze survey data with standard equipment and software while complying with safety requirements.

Responsibilities include operating GPS, total stations, and data collectors, processing data with Trimble software, reviewing plans, and maintaining detailed field records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction surveying principles, methods, and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and survey documents.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors and related survey equipment.
• Use Trimble software to process survey data and develop 3D models.
• Review and interpret plans, cross-sections, boundary information, and grade elevations.
• Perform boundary, topographic, control, leveling, and traversing surveys.
• Maintain field notes and daily documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents and crews.
• Travel to construction job sites as required.
