Riggs Companies is seeking a Construction Field Surveyor / Layout Technician to support our concrete crews. Training provided from ground up.

No previous surveying experience is required; the right candidate will learn line, grade, and layout while working on active sites in Phoenix, AZ. This role offers hands-on fieldwork and opportunities to grow in surveying within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn surveying and construction layout.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform basic measurements.
• Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites.
• Valid driver's license.
• College degree preferred or relevant construction/surveying experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate line, grade, and layout for concrete and construction crews.

Job description

We are looking for a dependable, motivated Construction Field Surveyor / Layout Technician to join our team and support our concrete construction crews. No previous surveying experience is required - we are willing to train the right person from the ground up.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide accurate line, grade, and layout for concrete and construction crews
• Lay out anchor bolts, embedded items, excavation locations, footings, walls, and other construction points
• Work closely with field crews, project managers, and superintendents to ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications
• Read and interpret construction drawings and plans
• Set and check elevations, grades, dimensions, and locations in the field
• Operate surveying and layout equipment
• Help identify and resolve layout issues before they become costly construction problems
• Maintain accurate field notes and measurements

Skills & Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are a plus

Education: College degree preferred, but not required. Relevant construction or surveying experience can be equally valuable.
