Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Survey Technician within the Civil Field Services group. The role involves extensive fieldwork, data collection, and construction verification across Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, with a 10-hour/4-day schedule Monday–Thursday and potential overtime.

Candidates should be proficient in GPS/total station data collection, control surveys, data processing, and training junior crew members. Hydrographic, laser scanning, or UAV survey experience is a plus.

• Collect survey data in the field using total station, level, or GPS equipment.
• Provide construction verification oversight for assigned projects.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems in the field.
• Record and report technical data accurately for mapping.
• Experience with hydrographic survey, laser scanning and unmanned aerial surveys is a plus.
