Job summary

Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a field survey assistant in Alabama.

You will collect data using company standards, support the Party Chief in field operations, and operate surveying instruments to measure elevations, angles and distances. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ years with data collectors and total stations, GDOT experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years using data collectors, robotic and non-robotic total stations, and GPS equipment.
• 1+ years of land surveying experience.
• GDOT experience.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Willing to train candidates without listed experience.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be willing and able to travel for the role.

Responsibilities

• Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
• Assist Party Chief in running the field operations.
• Operates and maintains surveying instruments (transits, level, theodolite, EODME) to measure elevations, angles and distances.
• Coordinates with office staff and clients as required.
• Adheres to local, state, and federal survey regulations and Accura procedures.
• Monitors daily timesheets, reports and vehicle inspections.
• Performs mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points.
• Interprets maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
• Cleans, checks and adjusts survey instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Oversees surveying activities in the absence of Survey Party Chief.
• Performs related work as required.
