Job summary

Brooks Construction Company, Inc. seeks a Survey Field Technician to support field surveying and construction layout for asphalt, concrete and dirt/pipe operations.

You will assist with staking, topographic surveys, data collection, and field notes, working closely with survey, engineering and operations teams in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A detail-oriented, adaptable candidate who learns new technologies quickly will thrive in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, plans and construction documents.
• Familiarity with surveying principles, practices and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing layout for private, commercial, and government projects.
• Utilize survey instruments and software to perform calculations and complete layouts including grade staking.
• Collect, download, and manage survey data.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify discrepancies in drawings and staking.
• Provide surveying information to project teams and other departments as needed.
• Operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Stay current on surveying technology, equipment and best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding project information.
