Job summary

MoDOT in Missouri is seeking a Survey Technician to assist the field survey party by taking survey measurements for route surveys using various field equipment. All duties are performed under direct supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Successful completion of a work simulation examination and a medical-physical examination.
• Moderate physical activity required; exposure to hazards or adverse environmental conditions.
• May require operation of vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials.

Responsibilities

• Operates surveying equipment in accordance with department methods and processes.
• Performs measurements and marks locations for geotechnical, boundary, and right-of-way surveys.
• Sets out safety devices, work zone signs, traffic cones, and warning flags when necessary.
• Maintains survey equipment, safety devices, supplies and vehicles; computes and records mileage for survey vehicles.
