Department: Survey
Location: Garden City, Long Island
Compensation: $30.00 - $50.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include locating and driving stakes into the ground, transporting necessary supplies to and stocking the field vehicle, proper care and maintenance of equipment, use of tools such as hammer, machete, chainsaw, and shovel, clearing survey centerline of obstructions, painting and marking laths, and properly operating a level rod and prism pole.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to bend and stoop repeatedly and move objects for long distances.
  • Ability to work in the field in a variety of weather conditions and out-of-town work possible.
  • Good handwriting skills for marking stakes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self‑motivation.
  • Knowledge of field survey engineering methods, techniques, and survey instruments is a plus.
