Job summary

Hargrove seeks a survey support professional in Baton Rouge, LA to assist with field surveys, laser scanning, CAD drafting and computations for industrial facilities and developments. The role operates under a licensed land surveyor and may require short travel and weekend work.

Responsibilities include coordinating with survey and design teams, developing action plans, and adhering to surveying standards while handling field equipment and data collection for boundary and construction control

Qualifications

• Familiarity with standards and codes.
• Proficient in field instruments: robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, laser scanners.
• Proficient with laser scanning registration software or equivalent.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Carlson Software or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with surveying and civil/structural terminology.

Responsibilities

• Complete project safely and within required accuracy and timeframe.
• Coordinate with survey and design teams to ensure scope and deliverables.
• Coordinate findings with engineering teammates, clients, and others involved.
• Assist in developing action plans for assigned projects.
• Adhere to existing surveying standards.
• Operate field equipment for fieldwork.
• Accurately measure angles, distances and other data per regulations and standards.
• Assist in surveys establishing legal boundaries based on deeds and titles.
• Assist in establishing construction control points for equipment installation.
• Record survey results: shape, contour, location, elevation, dimensions.
• Search legal records and land titles for property boundary information.
• Provide input on technical approach to tasks and outputs.
• Adapt to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Maintain flexibility to meet project needs based on workload.
• Assist field team lead for surveying and laser scanning.
