Job summary

PEC is seeking a Crew Chief to lead the land surveying team in Kansas City, MO. You will oversee field surveys, manage crews, equipment, and safety, and ensure high-quality data collection for ALTA, boundary, and topographic projects.

The role requires strong leadership, data verification skills, and the ability to coordinate with project managers and clients throughout field operations. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of land surveying experience with progressively responsible roles.
• Proficient in surveying instruments and software (Total Stations, GPS, Levels; AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center).
• Strong leadership, organization, and client relationship skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
• Legal to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead the survey crew for field surveys and related tasks.
• Ensure accurate data collection using surveying instruments and data collectors.
• Supervise survey control points, benchmarks, and reference points.
• Manage equipment, vehicles, and inventory for survey projects.
• Analyze data and prepare maps, plans, and reports; verify quality and safety.
