Job summary

Energy Land & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field crews on boundary, route, pipeline, topographic, construction layout, and aerial surveying in the Columbus and Dayton areas. The role requires coordinating with the Survey Manager and clients, while ensuring quality, schedules, and budgets are met.

The ideal candidate will have a 2–4 year degree in a related field (preferred), 3+ years of field management experience, and proficiency with Trimble equipment and Civil

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ideal candidate has 2–4 year degree in surveying/engineering/construction management (preferred).
• 3+ years field management experience on land surveying projects/crews preferred.
• LSIT or CST III/IV preferred; FAA Part 107 sUAS preferred.
• Experience using Trimble equipment preferred; Autodesk Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of surveying principles, methods, and field procedures.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily field operations of a survey crew.
• Survey data collection using GNSS, robotic, or conventional methods.
• Determines most efficient data acquisition plan for field surveys.
• Documents work performed with sketches; prepares reports.
• Communicates with Survey Manager on schedule and progress.
• Interacts professionally with clients and landowners.
• Reads/interprets engineering plans and drawings for compliance.
• Trains and mentors junior survey staff.
• Maintains field equipment and vehicles.
• Willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
