Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field survey crews on boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
• Perform and verify survey computations including traverse closures, level loops, and coordinate geometry.
• Operate and maintain total stations, GPS units, and digital data collectors.
• Accurately document field notes, sketches, and digital data for deliverables and reference.
• Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards; review HSAPs.
• Mentor junior crew members and coordinate with PMs, engineers, and clients.

Dynotec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations in conductingaccurate and efficient land surveys across Central Ohio. The ideal candidate will oversee field operations, manageteam members, verify precision survey data, and collaborate directly with project managers and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Field Leadership: Lead and supervise field survey crews on boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.Survey Computations: Perform and verify survey calculations including traverse closures, level loops, and coordinategeometry.

Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment including total stations, GPS units, and digitaldata collectors.

Documentation: Accurately document field notes, sketches, and digital data for project deliverables and legal reference.

Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols, daily HSAP reviews, and adherence to OSHA and companystandards.

Mentorship & Collaboration: Train junior crew members on equipment/procedures; coordinate with PMs, engineers,and clients to resolve field issues.

Project Oversight: Monitor project budgets, timelines, timekeeping, field expenses, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

Education: Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, orrelated field (Higher education preferred).

Experience: 3+ years in land surveying with at least 1 yearleading/managing projects.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern surveyinginstruments and data software. Drone license preferred.

Physical Requirements: Comfortable in an outdoorenvironment; able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly (80 lbs.occasionally).

Licensure: Valid driver's license required.

Leadership: Strong communication and crew managementcapabilities.
