Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. invites a Survey Intern to join our field and office team supporting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys for wind, solar, and battery storage projects.

The role offers hands-on experience across site mapping and final as-built deliverables. The selected candidate will learn GPS, robotic total station, and drone data collection in the field and assist Professional Land Surveyors with processing and drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to learn in a cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding fieldwork in varied outdoor conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist survey crews with boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys on wind, solar, and battery storage project sites.
• Operate and help maintain GPS, robotic total station, and data collection equipment.
• Support construction staking for access roads, turbine and panel foundations, and underground collection systems.
• Process field survey data and assist with drafting deliverables in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research and compile deed, plat, and right-of-way records to support boundary retracement and easement preparation.
• Travel to project sites, often in rural or remote locations, for field data collection.
