Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Scottsdale is seeking a Survey Field Intern to join a field and office survey team supporting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys for renewable energy projects.

You will apply surveying coursework to real-world projects, assist the Crew Chief, and gain experience in ALTA surveys, staking, and data collection while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in an associate's or bachelor’s degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
• Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys preferred.
• Familiar with GIS processes and terminology preferred.
• Prior survey fieldwork experience preferred.
• Full use of Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Crew Chief in operating a field survey crew.
• Maintain safety and equipment; collect field data and locate features.
• Record accurate surveying notes.
• Willingness to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time.
• Set wooden stakes and iron rods; clear brush as needed.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
