Job summary

The Land Surveying Intern will join a field and office survey team supporting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects. Projects range from preliminary site topographic mapping to final as-built surveys for renewable energy developers, IPPs, and utility clients.

This position offers a direct opportunity to apply surveying and geomatics coursework to real-world renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelor's degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
• Preferred: knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking.
• Familiar with GIS processes and terminology.
• Prior experience with survey fieldwork.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew.
• Support quality, safety, and equipment maintenance objectives; collect field data and locate features.
• Record accurate and clear surveying notes.
• Willingness to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time.
• Physical work including walking in varied terrains and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Adhere to Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
