Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Land Survey Intern to join a team supporting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys for land development projects.

You will apply surveying coursework to real-world site work, learn to operate field survey equipment and processing software under licensed Professional Land Surveyors, and assist in deed research, field data collection, and the preparation of plats and legal descriptions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients, management, and field crews.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist field survey crews with boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
• Operate robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and other surveying instruments under a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.
• Perform deed and record research to support boundary retracement and title review.
• Assist in processing field data and preparing plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Support the preparation of legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and subdivision plats.
• Travel to project sites to collect field data and coordinate with survey crews, contractors, and clients.
