Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking entry‑level land survey technicians to join a field crew in the Nashville area. You will support boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys, operate robotic total stations and GPS gear, and help maintain field documentation.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma, a willingness to work outdoors, and a driver’s license; prior surveying experience is a plus and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience outdoors preferred.
• Prior land surveying experience preferred.
• Experience with Carlson SurvCE, robotic total stations, and Trimble GPS is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a two- to three-person survey crew assisting with land surveying activities.
• Assist boundary, topo, construction staking, and other field surveys.
• Operate survey equipment including robotic total stations and GPS devices.
• Carry supplies, hold equipment, and assist with clearing survey lines.
• Record field measurements and maintain survey documentation.
• Maintain and transport survey equipment to job sites.
• Coordinate with crew and project teams to complete assignments efficiently.
