Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to support field data collection in Atlanta, GA.

You will assist the Survey Party Chief, operate and maintain surveying instruments, and ensure measurements meet company standards. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year experience with data collectors, total stations (robotic and non-robotic) and GPS equipment, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience with data collectors.
• 1+ year surveying experience with GDOT preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required.
• Willing to train candidates without noted experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
• Assist Survey Party Chief in field operations.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments to measure elevations, angles and distances.
• Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
• Maintain daily timesheets, reports and vehicle inspections.
• Perform calculations to establish reference points.
• Interpret maps, plats, blueprints and specifications.
• Clean and calibrate instruments to assure accuracy.
• Oversee activities in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
• Travel as required for the role.
