Job summary

ETM Inc. is seeking a survey field crew member to assist the Crew Chief with data collection and survey data accuracy. Responsibilities include cutting brush, loading equipment, setting up instruments, and recording measurements in various surveys.

You will work outdoors, operate total stations and GPS data collectors, and help maintain equipment. A valid driver's license and strong teamwork are required for safe field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in Surveying and/Data Collection or related field experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical stamina and ability to carry and operate surveying equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of survey instruments under supervision of the survey crew chief or surveyor.
• Set up survey instruments according to instructions from the survey crew chief or surveyor.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic cleaning of surveying instruments.
• Support the crew chief or surveyor in conducting field surveys (topographic, boundary, construction layouts).
• Assist in establishment of survey control points and marks.
• Participate in the collection of survey data, including measurements and observations.
• Record accurate field measurements and assist in entering survey data.
• Assist in setup, maintenance and care of surveying instruments and equipment.
• Report equipment issues or needs to the survey crew chief or surveyor.
• Adhere to safety protocols and participate in safety meetings/training.
• Report safety concerns or hazards to the survey crew chief or surveyor.
• Actively learn and develop surveying skills under supervision.
