Job summary

Timmons Group seeks a Survey Crew Chief for its Plano, TX office. You will lead field crews, direct survey operations, and ensure accurate boundary and construction stakeout data. Travel may be required and proficiency with survey instruments is essential.

Candidates should have strong teamwork, be able to work independently, and maintain precise field notes and sketches. The role supports our Survey Group in delivering high-quality civil engineering and surveying services.

Qualifications

• Five years of field survey experience preferred.
• Experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS preferred.
• Ability to obtain and hold a federal security clearance.
• Experience with VDOT transportation surveying a plus.
• Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat and professional manner.
• AutoCAD experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day field crew operations to provide data for boundary, topo, and construction stakeout surveys.
• Trains crew to operate total station, level, GPS and data collectors.
• Establishes and marks points on construction stakeout projects.
• Performs daily maintenance and upkeep of instruments.
• Maintains clear field notes including sketches.
• Oversees maintenance of survey equipment, supplies and vehicles.
• Works in a team, with ability to work independently.
