Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a full-time Survey Party Chief to lead the survey crew in our land surveying department. You will report survey data to the Survey Team Manager and travel as needed to support various project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive crew leadership experience in surveying and be able to read measurements, operate field equipment, and manage daily field logs. Travel and field readiness are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years verifiable experience in running a crew in surveying commercial and/or heavy industrial construction stakeout.
• Be able to read and comprehend measurements.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Be able to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily functions of the survey crew.
• Responsible for set up and completion of the survey crew on job sites under supervision.
• Ensures the proper reporting of daily work logs to the Org Manager.
• Reduces survey data to the Org Manager.
• Interprets blueprints/plans/deeds to lead the survey crew.
• Drives company vehicle to and from job sites.
• Operates all survey equipment and interprets data to report to the Org Manager.
• Understand and compute field calculations relative to the survey data collected.
• Manage time and schedules of the survey crew.
• Maintain punctual attendance.
