Job summary

Alachua County Public Works is seeking an entry-level Survey Aide to support field surveying activities under supervision. Graduation from high school or equivalent and six months of experience with operating hand and power tool equipment are required.

A Florida driver license is required and a motor vehicle record must meet county policy; pre-employment drug screens, physicals, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience with operating hand and power tool equipment.
• Valid Florida Driver License and an MVR meeting Alachua County policy #6-7.
• Pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine entry-level surveying tasks under supervision.
• Operate survey equipment such as total station, chainsaws and machetes as trained.
• Maintain field equipment and drive to work sites.
