Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Vector Control Supervisor to oversee day-to-day responsibilities for chemical and biological mosquito eradication methods, lead a field team, and plan program objectives in alignment with public health goals. The role involves monitoring breeding sites, coordinating spraying schedules, responding to citizen concerns, and participating in emergency management.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's in Biology/Entomology/Epidemiology and 3 years of vector control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, entomology, epidemiology or closely related field.
• 3 years of experience in vector control or integrated pest management with leadership experience for technicians.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day responsibilities for chemical and other eradication methods.
• Monitor areas for mosquito breeding or adult activity and assign staff to determine schedules and methods.
• Perform chemical and mechanical pest control in mitigation areas.
• Test mosquitoes for disease and determine spraying times based on season and conditions.
• Participate in emergency management activities during local disasters.
