Job summary

Universal Maintenance is seeking a Field Supervisor in California to oversee day porters across properties, ensuring safety, quality, and timely service. You will lead crews, supervise projects, and coordinate with Account Managers to maintain high standards with a focus on OSHA safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include developing workflows, training staff, managing time cards, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read and write in English.
• Experience in janitorial/maintenance industry preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish.
• Be accountable and detail-oriented.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Create work-flow procedures and checklists tailored to each property.
• Supervise crew leaders and workers; review time sheets.
• Provide OSHA safety training and proper handling of cleaning materials.
• Maintain safety training docs with Safety Administrator.
• Supervise daily tasks and assist with special projects.
• Oversee supplies ordering, delivery and inventory records; support billing.
• Maintain frequent contact with crew leaders to ensure service quality.
• Conduct inspections of property conditions; provide feedback to Account Managers.
• Inspect workers' uniforms and adherence to the Code of Conduct.
• Ensure tools/equipment are in good condition and replace as needed.
• Report unusual conditions and maintenance needs to Account Managers with photos.
• Join Account Manager on property walk-throughs and follow up on actions.
