Job summary

The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking a Field Supervisor who will lead a team of Field Representatives responsible for data collection in accordance with scientific standards and sponsor expectations.

Travel will be required across local and surrounding areas based on the home address of the selected candidate. The role includes recruiting and training Field Representatives, evaluating performance, and supervising payroll and leave approvals, with a mixed-tour schedule including evenings or weekends

Qualifications

• Lead a team of Field Representatives to collect data per Census Bureau standards.
• Understand survey operations and how procedures affect interviewing experience.
• Recruit and train Field Representatives.
• Conduct in-person interviews as needed across designated areas.
• Evaluate, mentor and supervise staff including payroll/leave processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Field Representatives to collect data in accordance with scientific standards and sponsor requirements.
• Direct field activities, resolve issues, and ensure quality data collection.
• Recruit and train Field Representatives and provide ongoing guidance.
• Conduct in-person interviews in the designated area and surrounding regions.
• Monitor performance via metrics and perform administrative duties including payroll oversight.
