Job summary

INSERV - Environmental & Industrial Services is seeking an Environmental Supervisor to oversee field deployment, crew management, and safety compliance across Indiana job sites. You’ll bridge site execution with project profitability by coaching Field Foremen and Environmental Technicians and auditing work quality.

You’ll apply hands-on hazardous materials knowledge, enforce OSHA/EPA standards, and lead safety training while supporting constant process improvements.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Progressive leadership experience in industrial services.
  • OSHA 10 & 30, HAZWOPER, CSE training, IDEM UST Class B preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, CRM, and mobile field apps.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field deployment of equipment, personnel, and materials.
  • Lead Field Foremen and Environmental Technicians; manage performance.
  • Audit sites for OSHA, EPA, IDEM compliance.
  • Support cost-to-budget reviews, quotes, and profitability.
  • Lead incident investigations and CAPA with compliance team.
  • Collaborate across functions and enforce safety initiatives.

Compensation: 27 - 36 hourly

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Demonstrated progressive experience and leadership within industrial services, environmental remediation, or hazardous material handling.
  • Certifications & Training:
    • OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 (Construction)
    • 40‑Hour HAZWOPER Certification
    • Confined Space Entry (CSE) Training / Certification
    • IDEM UST Class B (or ability to obtain)
    • NIMS ICS (100/200/300/700/703) and OSRO operational training preferred
    • AEP Safety Certification or Designated Trainer background preferred
  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) highly preferred.
  • Software & Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, CRM software, and mobile field reporting applications.
  • Physical Requirements & Environmental Working Conditions:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
    • Ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, or kneel across uneven terrain and varied outdoor environments for extended periods.
    • Must be comfortable operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as required.
    • Ability to tolerate Level B protective gear and a full‑face respirator.
    • Ability to work in environments with exposure to strong odors or hazardous materials following proper PPE protocols.
  • Preferred Competencies:
    • Deep working knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazardous waste management guidelines.
    • Strong background in positive performance coaching and safety instruction.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking, project costing awareness, and adaptability under changing site conditions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Field Operations & Deployment: Coordinate and deploy equipment, personnel, and materials across multiple field projects to maintain schedule and budget targets.
  • Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and evaluate Field Foremen and Environmental Technicians. Oversee time and attendance, performance management, and workforce development in collaboration with HR.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Audit job sites for compliance with federal, state, local, and company rules (OSHA, EPA, IDEM). Ensure accurate waste profiling, manifesting, transportation, and disposal documentation.
  • Project Quality & Profitability: Assist Project Managers with quote tracking, cost-to-budget reviews, change orders, and profitability reporting while conducting regular site audits to evaluate work quality and efficiency.
  • Incident Management & CAPA: Lead investigations for reported good‑catch and safety incidents, partnering with the compliance team to enforce Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate in operational briefings, enforce disciplinary policies when necessary, and maintain active involvement in company safety initiatives.
