Job summary

Preferred Roofing is seeking an experienced Roofing Field Supervisor to oversee roofing projects in the field and ensure safety, efficiency, and high quality. You will coordinate with crews, project managers, homeowners, and the office team to keep projects organized and on schedule.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in roofing or construction, and capable of directing crews while solving field issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Visit and oversee active roofing projects daily.
• Ensure crews follow project specs and safety standards.
• Inspect workmanship at each stage of the project.
• Coordinate with crews, project managers, suppliers, and office staff.
• Confirm materials, equipment, and labor availability for each project.
• Identify issues early and coordinate solutions to prevent delays.
• Monitor schedules and keep projects moving toward completion.
• Perform pre-job, progress, and final inspections; complete punch lists.
• Document progress with photos and notes; keep sites clean and organized.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and address questions or concerns.
• Report change orders and unexpected conditions to management.
• Help maintain relationships with subcontractors and roofing crews.
• Assist management in improving field operations and production efficiency.

We are looking for an experienced Roofing Field Supervisor to oversee roofing projects in the field and help ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to our quality standards.

Position Overview

The Roofing Field Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing roofing projects from job start through completion. This person will work closely with roofing crews, project managers, homeowners, suppliers, and the office team to make sure projects stay organized, on schedule, and up to Preferred Roofing standards.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in roofing or construction, comfortable managing crews, and able to identify and solve problems quickly in the field.

Responsibilities

• Visit and oversee active roofing projects throughout the day.
• Make sure roofing crews are following project specifications and company quality standards.
• Inspect workmanship throughout each stage of the roofing project.
• Coordinate with crews, project managers, suppliers, and office staff.
• Confirm materials, equipment, and labor are available for each project.
• Identify jobsite issues early and coordinate solutions before they cause delays.
• Monitor project schedules and keep jobs moving toward completion.
• Perform pre-job, progress, and final inspections.
• Complete final walkthroughs and punch lists before projects are closed out.
• Document job progress with photos, notes, and project updates.
• Make sure jobsites remain clean, organized, and professional.
• Ensure crews are following company safety procedures and jobsite safety requirements.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners and address jobsite questions or concerns.
• Report change orders, additional work, material issues, or unexpected conditions to management.
• Help maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and roofing crews.
• Assist management in improving field operations, quality control, and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous roofing experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience supervising construction or roofing crews preferred.
• Strong knowledge of roofing installation practices, materials, and jobsite procedures.
• Ability to identify workmanship and installation issues.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple active projects.
• Comfortable communicating with homeowners, crews, and management.
• Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in the field.
• Basic ability to use a smartphone, take jobsite photos, and update project information electronically.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel between jobsites throughout Southern California.
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates are a plu
