Job summary

Jobtailor in Mississippi seeks a hands-on Supervisor to oversee day-to-day activities of Engineering Technicians and other technical field staff, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time testing services.

You will monitor project progress, schedule staff, coordinate with clients on timelines, and contribute to proposals and recruitment. Requires a diploma, a Bachelor's in Engineering or Geology, 4–6 years' experience, and 3+ years in supervision; valid driver's license; certification preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day activities of technical field employees such as Engineering Technicians.
• Provide oversight, guidance, instruction, and work direction on testing services and assessment of site conditions.
• Monitor current and upcoming project progress and communicate updates.
• Maintain project schedule status and communicate resource requirements and project updates.
• Plan, schedule, and dispatch staff to project sites based on skills, certifications, location, project, and priority.
• Communicate with clients regarding project timelines, needs, and status.
• Monitor testing against project plans and specifications.
• Assist with testing services as needed.
• Participate in proposals, client cost estimates, recruitment, and selection.
• Monitor project risk, safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and development to technical field staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the Firm including Engineering or Geology preferred


• Minimum 4-6 years' relevant experience


• Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience


• A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required


• Certification or licensure in field of expertise preferred
