Job summary

C. A. Murren & Sons Company, Inc. is seeking a Site Superintendent specializing in pipe and earthwork for projects in the Oak Ridge area. You will lead crews, plan earthwork and pipe installations, and ensure safety and accuracy on heavy civil sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of superintendent experience, underground utilities expertise, ability to read civil drawings, and strong leadership and planning skills; join a team with a long-standing safety and quality record.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Experience with underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage).
• Strong understanding of earthwork, grading, trench safety, and utility installation sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Experience developing and managing three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate project information to the appropriate people in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop and execute detailed plans for earthwork and pipe installation activities.
• Oversee mass grading, excavation, trenching, backfill, compaction and underground utility installation.
• Ensure work is performed safely and according to project requirements the first time.
• Align manpower and equipment for optimal results and field development.
• Review time sheets and ensure time/quantities align with budget.
• Maintain Daily Activity Reports and project photos.
• Lead crews to meet project execution and production goals.
• Maintain customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
