Job summary

BL Harbert International in Huntsville, AL, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent (Structural Services Group) to support the Sr. Project Superintendent by supervising day-to-day field construction activities, enforcing safety policies, and coordinating subcontractors.

You will help schedule work, monitor quality, review contract documents, maintain QC/QA files, and participate in progress meetings. Candidates should have 1-3 years as an assistant superintendent with total construction

Qualifications

1-3 years’ experience as an assistant superintendent with 3 years total construction experience.
Experience in construction management for commercial/hospitality buildings and infrastructure.
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or comparable degree.
Experience managing project budgets and schedules, and owner relationships.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Open to relocation.

Responsibilities

Assist the Sr. Project Superintendent with day-to-day supervision of field construction activities.
Enforce safety policies and direct craft personnel and subcontractors.
Schedule and sequence daily work activities to meet objectives.
Oversee projects to ensure scope, quality, and contract compliance.
Maintain QC/QA files and update as-built drawings.
Attend pre-construction and progress meetings.
Monitor staffing needs and address employee relations as warranted.
