Job summary

BL Harbert International Southeast USA is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for our Material Handling Division, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The role requires supervising crews and subcontractors, coordinating with project management, and driving installation work on conveyor and rack systems while upholding our high-quality standards.

Travel to project sites will be required as needed, with a strong safety culture,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in superintendent/leadership roles in material handling or industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of material handling systems and conveyors.
• Ability to read blueprints and project schedules.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain quickly.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Proficiency with basic technology tools (email, scheduling, reporting).
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations on material handling projects.
• Manage crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Enforce a strong safety culture and protocols.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise installation activities.
• Coordinate with project management to review schedules and forecasts.
• Conduct site walks, QC checks, and punch list completion.
• Hold daily pre-task planning meetings and safety toolbox talks.
• Maintain daily field reports, logs, and documentation.
• Communicate with owners, vendors, engineers, and internal teams.
• Monitor labor productivity and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop field crews and foremen.
• Assist with startup and close-out tasks.
