Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an experienced Subcontracts Administrator to lead subcontract administration from award to closeout on field projects in Newnan, GA. You will manage terms, change orders, cost reporting, and risk assessment while coordinating with project teams and subcontractors on-site.

The role requires deep knowledge of procurement processes, strong communication, and the ability to work across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, technical or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience; field experience preferred.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, driving record)

Responsibilities

• Execute subcontract administration activities from award through final closeout.
• Administer subcontract terms & conditions, notices, correspondence, payment verification, deliverables tracking.
• Support subcontract review, negotiation, and implementation activities.
• Manage routine subcontractor change orders and issue resolution.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and communicate risks and opportunities to project teams.
• Track and document subcontractor claims for resolution and communicate risks.
• Support subcontractor forecasting, accruals, and cost reporting.
• Maintain subcontract documentation per company procedures.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and site stakeholders.
• Provide mentoring to less experienced subcontract professionals.

Job Summary

Leads field subcontract administration activities from award through closeout, managing subcontractor performance, commercial administration, and change management. Serves as the primary subcontracts representative for project leadership, administering contract terms, processing change orders, and resolving routine commercial issues. Ensures subcontract compliance, risk identification, and timely resolution of routine commercial issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute subcontract administration activities from award through final closeout.
• Administer subcontract terms and conditions, including notices, correspondence, payment verification, and deliverables tracking.
• Support subcontract review, negotiation, and implementation activities.
• Manage routine subcontractor change orders and commercial issue resolution.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and communicate risks, opportunities, and concerns to Project Management and Construction Management teams.
• Track and document subcontractor claims and provide supporting information for claim resolution. Identify and communicate subcontractor risk and opportunity (R&O) items to Project Managers and Project Controls Managers.
• Support subcontractor forecasting, accruals, and cost reporting activities.
• Maintain subcontract documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Build collaborative working relationships with subcontractors and site stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and informal mentoring to less experienced subcontract professionals as needed.

Management Responsibilities

Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, technical or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required. Field experience preferred.

• Possesses a strong knowledge and understanding of commercial terms and conditions.
• Understanding of relevant B&V Processes and Procedures
• General computer skills, Microsoft suite

Work Environment/Physical Demands

This position is field-based and requires regular presence at project sites for extended periods of time. Travel is required and may include overnight stays based on business needs and project demands.
