Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation seeks an Electrical Field Engineer for a Simple Cycle project in Newnan, GA. You will provide direction on design, interpret specifications, and coordinate field activities with procurement and site teams.

Ideal candidates have 2–6 years in construction management or design, strong knowledge of MS Office, and experience with P6, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and Procure. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-site execution.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program in the USA or recognized equivalent.
  • 2 to 6 years construction management and/or design experience in similar facility construction.
  • Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical direction and interpretation of design drawings and specifications.
  • Performs field checks and re-designs in the field without supervision when needed.
  • Coordinates with Field Subcontract Administrator or Procurement Manager.
  • Monitors CPM schedule compliance and prepares extra work authorizations.
  • Maintains daily site logs and manages site document control.
  • Assists Field Quality Assurance in inspections and tests and enforces safety standards.

Job Summary

Provide information and direction, as outlined within contract specifications, to allow the work to proceed as scheduled. Authority to interpret technical requirements and provide solutions in conjunction with discipline Project Department Engineer and Discipline Superintendent, to provide drawings and data, and to direct work as assigned and consistent with Company's contractual commitments. May perform contract administration of discipline specific or assigned procurements. Interprets and administers fundamental commercial issues. Key Responsibilities

Provides technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements, as well as general guidance on overall design. May perform fundamental design checks and re‑design in the field without supervision. Provides commercial direction, interpretation of specification, and administers discipline specific or assigned contract requirements in coordination with Field Subcontract Administrator or Procurement Manager. Reviews, maintains records, and responds to Contractor Information Requests (CIRs) as assigned. Monitors assigned for compliance with technical requirements. Monitors discipline construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule. Prepares and issues all discipline extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs) with the approval of the Site Manager. Coordinates with Field. Maintains a daily log for site record purposes. Completes quantity take‑offs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval. Monitors technical service representative (supplier) daily logs and reviews/approves their timesheets. Compiles and maintains Conformed to Construction Records drawing and list markups as assigned. Directs site document control activities for design documents. Assists Field Quality Assurance Manager in performing inspections and verification of tests. Adheres to safety and quality standards as appropriate for level of duties and accountabilities. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Reviews, maintains records, and responds to Contractor Information Requests (CIRs) as assigned. Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction except as assigned. Directs TA's, and vendor representatives

Preferred Qualifications

2 to 6 years construction management and/or design experience in similar facility construction

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents. Experience using Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of P6, Procure, Bluebeam, and Naviswork. Ability to do material takeoffs, field estimates. Communication skills. Organizational skills. Safety regulations. Discipline engineering experience. Supervisory skills. Contract administration

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Physical Demands:
Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
See and hear naturally or with correction.
Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
Requires repetitive movement.
May require work above 5 feet in height.
Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.

Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
Work around hazardous equipment.
