Job summary

The National Audubon Society seeks a Senior Associate, Stewardship to support the Grange Insurance Audubon Center in Colombus, Ohio. You will lead land management, invasive species removal, and native planting efforts while coordinating bird, insect and plant surveys, MOTUS tower activities, and community science initiatives with staff and volunteers.

You will train staff and volunteers in safety protocols, build partnerships, plan public programs, and help manage conservation budgets and grant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree environmental studies, ecology, natural resources, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of relevant job experience in ecology or habitat restoration.
• Experience safely operating equipment (tractors, 4x4s, mowers, chainsaws, hand and power tools).
• Knowledge of safety practices and occupational hazards with power tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead conservation objectives and restoration work at Grange, including invasive removals and native plantings.
• Collaborate with the Science Team to coordinate community science and surveys (bird, insect, plant) and MOTUS tower activities.
• Coordinate with the Volunteer Coordinator to plan land stewardship and community science opportunities.
• Support conservation efforts at Aullwood and other centers as needed.
• Coordinate interns, volunteers, and lead volunteer workdays on-site.
