Job summary

The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, Pennsylvania, seeks a Coordinator, Grounds & Maintenance to support daily operations, land and habitat management, and facility maintenance. The role ensures safe, accessible grounds for visitors across seven miles of trails and historic facilities on a 175-acre estate.

You will work with the Center Director and Manager, Center Operations, coordinating a team and volunteers, and may include weekend/evening shifts to meet events and storms

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational school certificate or equivalent a plus.
• At least three years of experience in land management or related field.
• Basic knowledge of habitat management and bird and plant identification.
• Ability to operate and maintain hand and gasoline-powered tools.
• Experience with basic trades including plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
• Ability to work with staff and interact positively with visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, buildings, equipment, boats, and vehicles.
• Maintain property signage along interior boundaries.
• Create a clean, safe and pleasant environment for visitors and event guests.
• Operate and oversee equipment for grass, meadows, forests and trails; plow snow and treat ice.
• Maintain grounds and native habitats for birds and people; recommend habitat projects.
• Coordinate with the Visitor Experience Manager to plan work orders and budgeting.
• Respond to emergency issues and prepare for storms to protect assets.
• Support Audubon conservation priorities at the Center.
• Attend staff calls and collaborate on shared priorities.
