Job summary

Prescott’s Med in Lexington, KY is seeking a Sterilizer Repair Technician to provide hands-on service for sterilizers, washers, and related equipment at hospitals and laboratories. You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain devices from brands such as Getinge and Steris, while delivering excellent customer support.

The role requires 1–3 years of field service or related experience, a valid license, and willingness to travel 60–90% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems preferred.
• 1–3 years of directly related field service or technical maintenance experience; or 3–5 years of hands‑on experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in repair and maintenance of Getinge (CASTLE) and/or Steris (AMSCO) washing, sterilization, and surgical equipment is required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Willingness to travel frequently (60–90%) to customer sites, which may include hospitals, operating rooms, laboratories, research facilities, and universities up to 3 hours away.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and refurbish industrial washing, sterilization, and surgical equipment and system components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment from multiple manufacturers, including Getinge CASTLE, Steris AMSCO, Consolidated, Tuttnauer, and others.
• Service devices such as autoclaves, rack washers, tunnel washers, bottle fillers, bedding dispensers, blanket warmers, surgical lights, and tables.
• Installations and equipment modifications as required.
• Maintain service documentation, reports, and inventory records per company standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer experience through proactive communication and issue resolution.
• Plan and manage service schedules to ensure timely response and completion.
• Provide on-site training or demonstrations to customers.
