Qualifications

  • Familiarity with production equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain oil and gas production equipment.
  • Perform duties associated with oil and gas production operations, including plunger lift, rod pumping, flowing wells, and compressors.
  • Acquire fluid level information and manage data records.
  • Use CMMS to create work orders for inventory and planning.
  • Ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency and adheres to Chevron's standards and regulatory requirements.

Total Number of Openings1Operates and monitors oil, water and gas production and distribution facilities, typically Upstream facilities from wells to primary separation and processing, and Midstream distribution/storage facilities (pipelines/terminals). Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance.Performs work of medium complexity and may assist on projects. Receives close supervision only on non-routine and critical aspects of work. General knowledge of Chevron policies and processes.Chevron Shale & Tight Business – Texas Region is accepting online applications for the position of Field Specialist A at Orla, TX through October 6th at 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time).This position assumes the responsibility of monitoring and optimization of all production process variables, ensuring that all production equipment operates at peak reliability and efficiency, and acquiring and storing dataThis job observes a 14/14 work scheduleResponsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Actively supports Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices as described in the S&T Safe Practice Manual, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety eventOperates, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains oil and gas production equipmentPerform duties (as detailed below) associated with oil and gas producing operations; including but not limited to plunger lift, rod pumping and flowing wells, and compressors:Gas CompressionGas DehydrationOptimizing artificial lift systemsTesting wellsAcquires fluid level informationChemical Injection systems (corrosion inhibitor, etc)Saltwater disposal systemRecords keeping and data inputMonitors computer control systemsTests on safety devicesOperates and monitors of SCADAPartners with other employees, and contractors to ensure that all equipment is operating at peak efficiencyUtilizes a Computerized Maintenance Management System to create work orders for inventory and work planning/prioritizationEnsures all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirementsOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Must possess a valid driver's license.High School Diploma or equivalentA minimum of 1 year of current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industriesAbility and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends and holidays of assigned work schedule and overtime based on workloadPreferred Qualifications:Associate's degree in petroleum or Process Technology or related technology discipline3 years of current related experience in unconventional oil and gas operationsDemonstrated knowledge of gas lift, ESP, and rod pump artificial lift typesFamiliarity with Chevron factory standard facilities (CTBs, SWDs, Satellites) and equipmentFamiliarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental and production related issuesFamiliar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentationAbility to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipmentBasic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CMMS, SCADA, and an aptitude for learning new digital tools (O&M Workbench, PowerBi, PowerApps, etc.)Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervisionChevron offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
