Job summary

Chevron is seeking a Field Specialist B to monitor and optimize oil, water and gas production, ensuring peak reliability across upstream facilities and midstream pipelines from wells to processing. Based at the Odessa, TX site, you will follow an 8/6 schedule with on-call rotations and overtime as needed.

Requirements include at least 1 year of oil and gas experience, a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of gas lift, ESP and rod pump artificial lift types.
• Familiarity with Chevron factory standard facilities (CTBs, SWDs, Satellites, CSs) and equipment.
• Associate's degree in petroleum or Process Technology or related discipline.
• Two years current related experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
• Familiar with reliability efforts for safety, environmental and production issues.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipment.
• Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation.
• Proficient with MS Office, SAP, SCADA; learning new digital tools (PI Vision, Power BI, PowerApps).
• Capable of multitasking with limited supervision and working with diverse teams.

Monitors process variables, troubleshoots, and performs interventions to maintain operating performance.

Performs work of medium complexity and may assist on projects. Receives close supervision only on non-routine and critical aspects of work. General knowledge of Chevron policies and processes.

Shale & Tight Business is accepting online applications for the position of Field Specialist B at the Odessa Production Team near Odessa, TX through September 30th at 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time).

This position assumes the responsibility of monitoring and optimization of all production process variables, ensuring that all production equipment is operating at peak reliability and efficiency, and acquiring and storing data.

This position will follow an 8/6 work schedule.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1-year current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries.
• Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends and holidays of assigned work schedule and overtime based on workload.
• Ability to periodically work a night shift based upon predetermined schedule.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver's license. Company vehicles will be available for commute.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of gas lift, ESP, and rod pump artificial lift types.
• Familiarity with Chevron factory standard facilities (CTBs, SWDs, Satellites, CSs) and equipment.
• Associate's degree in petroleum or Process Technology or related technology discipline.
• Two years current related experience in oil and gas, or related petrochemical industries.
• Familiarity with reliability efforts for a variety of safety, environmental and production related issues.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facility equipment.
• Familiar with pneumatic/electronic instrumentation.
• Basic knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), SAP, SCADA, and an aptitude for learning new digital tools (PI Vision, Power BI, PowerApps, etc.)
• Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.
• Ability to manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision.
