Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Solar Farm Technician II for full-time, permanent placement to maintain and repair solar PV systems across sites in the US. You will perform electrical and mechanical tasks, adhere to safety protocols, and generate detailed reports while coordinating with contractors and site personnel.

The role requires flexibility for shifts, travel to multiple sites, and a proactive approach to process improvements, with a focus on reliable, safe power delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in engineering or related field from an accredited US school.
• NABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferred.
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a maintenance electrician or 4 years as multi-craft maintenance.
• Preference for solar O&M experience.
• Skilled in power plant operations, electrical/mechanical equipment maintenance, or substation maintenance.
• Competent in power plant safety protocols.
• Competent in electrical safety.
• Understanding the NEC.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety policies.
• Ability to travel to job sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely and by site procedures.
• Complete LOTO, JSA’s, Permit to Work, and documentation for inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Proactively look for improvement opportunities to processes.
• Perform data collection and prepare reports.
• Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.
• Monitor maintenance contractors and enforce corrective actions.
• Perform electrical testing including insulation and thermal tests.
• Document all work and generate reports.
• Use MS Office for communication, presentation, and documentation.
• Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks.
• Assist with BOP activities as needed.
• Respond to emergencies or troubleshooting.
• Ensure site access and safety protocols are followed.
• Interface with 3rd party contractors.
• Available for nontraditional hours, including emergencies.
