Job summary

CoVolt Power AHV is seeking a Commissioning Superintendent for Solar Energy Projects. This field-based role requires daily commuting to the project site and close collaboration with the Project Management team to manage the commissioning scope and ensure construction aligns with the owner’s contract.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with solar and/or wind construction.
• Ability to lead and coordinate teams.
• Familiarity with field safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Directs solar commissioning personnel and subcontractors to complete the project.
• Plan and apply proper means and methods for activities.
• Create and maintain commissioning documentation per contract.
• Ensure work stays within approved scope and compliance.
• Coordinate testing with supplier commissioning teams.
• Identify required testing per scope and ITP.
• Communicate with engineering to meet commissioning requirements.
• Advise on electrical topics: circuits, switchgear, HV systems.
• Enforce safety rules and site procedures on the project.
• Assist Superintendent in owner communications on major decisions.
• Track costs vs estimates and flag overruns.
• Identify potential change orders and inform Site Manager.
• Maintain crew and equipment matrices and update plans.
• Possibly visit proposed sites to support Estimating.
• Liaise with community leaders and landowners.
