Job summary

Boart Longyear in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks a skilled Mechanic to repair and service light vehicles, drill rigs and support equipment. You will troubleshoot malfunctions using hydraulic, electrical and powertrain diagnostics, read schematics, and communicate repair status to management.

Responsibilities include shop and field repairs, routine maintenance, tool ownership, travel to jobsites, and maintaining MSHA/OSHA certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of directly related experience.
• 3+ years Hydraulic Systems experience preferred.
• 3+ years Electrical Systems (12V & 24V) experience preferred.
• Knowledge of high‑pressure air systems (i.e. Screw Compressors and boosters).
• Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud systems.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret Hydraulic and Electrical Schematics required.
• Current/Valid driver’s license.
• Possesses or has ability to obtain a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain equipment in a shop and field setting.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Perform routine maintenance with quick turnaround and accuracy.
• Maintain company equipment in clean, orderly condition.
• Work safely and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional relationships with field operations personnel.
• Communicate scope and progress of assigned work to Operations and Maintenance.
• Own and maintain required personal tools.
• Travel to jobsites as needed.
• Willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to new team members as assigned.
• Maintain MSHA/OSHA certification.
