Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:

• Developing a repair plan and sequence
• Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of the repaired components, systems, and machines

• Completing reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work orders
• Communicating repair progress with supervisors
• Managing parts and materials through the company’s parts system
• Handling special tools and maintaining shop equipment and tools
• Using company vehicles, service trucks, and fuel cards responsibly
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Following all safety guidelines and company policies
• Performing additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D., or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, handle, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, and communicate effectively. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
