Job summary

Thermal Specialties, LLC in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Field Services Technician – Welding and Mechanical for our Construction Services division to install, troubleshoot, and service high‑temperature furnace systems on customer sites.

You will read fabrication drawings, weld in multiple positions, test welds, and engage with customers while collaborating with team members across travel‑required assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Be punctual and flexible to company needs and locations; complete tasks until finished.
• Maintain a safe work environment and identify safety hazards.

Job description

Thermal Specialties is looking for a Field Services Technician – Welding and Mechanical for our Construction Services division in Fort Worth, TX.

Thermal Specialties is a family owned custom manufacturer and service organization. We provide comprehensive solutions to meet our customer’s needs. From next-generation industrial furnace systems and heat-treating capabilities to refractory installation and repair and insulation materials, Thermal Specialties is the single-source provider for high-temperature thermal processing applications.

Role and Responsibilities:

3 plus years of experience in ironwork, welding, mechanical troubleshooting, and / or support - preferred

• Knowledge of Industrial Furnace Operation, Mechanical Assembly, and installation of combustion equipment - preferred
• Ability to read fabricacion/installation drawings
• Utilize industry tools and equipment, including powered saws, hand shears, chipping knives, portable grinders, hand files, and scrapers
• Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles
• Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions
• Conduct tests to check weld quality, including hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Ability to work as a team
• Ability to intelligently interact with customers

Qualified Candidates must possess:

• Education must be a high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Be at work on time. Be flexible to company needs and work locations. Stay on the job until the work is completed.
• Maintain a safe working environment for you and your co-workers. Proactively identify possible safety hazards and report them to management
• Work to improve knowledge in areas of furnace maintenance as well as fabrication

Physical Demands:

• 50% travel to be expected (in and out of state)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in extreme high/low temperatures and a physically demanding environment
• Frequently required to stand for long periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
