Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Northern Virginia is seeking a field service technician with strong RF and IT skills to support mission-critical radios and infrastructure. You will perform codeplug development, provisioning, maintenance, and on-site installations, ensuring secure, reliable operation of complex systems.

The role requires 2+ years in LMR/RF/IT, US citizenship for government contracts, and willingness to travel CONUS. ISO 9001:2015 and UL standards underpin our operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician in LMR, RF, IT or Networking.
• U.S. citizen capable of obtaining government security clearances and DHS clearance as required.
• On-site work at our Northern Virginia facility with ISO 9001:2015 and UL certifications.
• Strong mechanical, hands-on skills and ability to work with Secure Products.

Responsibilities

• Codeplug Development: develop complex subscriber radio codeplugs to customer specs.
• Provisioning & Deployment: perform initial provisioning and deployment of equipment.
• Maintenance & Repair: maintain and repair LMR subscribers and systems, including encrypted gear.
• Component & Accessory Analysis: analyze batteries and antennas, repair radio accessories.
• Preventative Maintenance: perform PM with trend analysis and problem-solving.
• Vehicle Installation: install and troubleshoot radios in vehicles at facilities or sites.
• System Support: provide advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization for systems.
