Carilion Clinic is seeking a Field Services Technician I to install and support voice and data devices, including PCs, printers, phones, and tablets. You will troubleshoot on-site and remotely, assist with small projects, and coordinate with vendors and teams to resolve incidents.

The IT Client Support Specialist I installs and supports both voice and data peripheral technologies, including but not limited to PCs, laptops, printers, mobile phones, tablets (including other wireless handheld devices) and telephones. Provides on-site and remote equipment troubleshooting and repair for all technologies to ensure operational effectiveness of the organization. Assists vendor and other technology teams with the initial troubleshooting of connectivity and hardware/software related issues. Aids with onsite and remote observations of technology issues in efforts of helping provide client issue resolution. The IT Client Support Specialist I Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents as escalated from the service desk or other teams. Performs installation and configuration of desktop hardware and peripherals in the enterprise. These include, but are not limited to: PCs, Laptops, Thin Computing Devices, Phones, Mobile Phones, Tablets/Handheld Wireless Devices and Printers. Installs/deinstalls ports for both data and telephony needs. Interface with clients, vendors, and multiple teams on small scale projects involving installation of and changes to desktop assets. Demonstrates proficiency in multiple technologies (desktop/laptop hardware, printers, telephony). Manages small projects and meets deadlines with moderate supervision from more experienced peers, Supervisor and/or Manager. Assists with larger scale projects as needed. Serves as (SME) Subject Matter Expert for at least one technology Assists in writing Knowledgebase Documents Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to assure prompt resolution to identified problems. Travels between Carilion facilities and other locations to transport equipment and may need to respond to service needs during the workday or while on call.
Education: Associate's degree in a related field or 2 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: 2 years of experience in computer electronics, PC and/or telephony support. Experience in microcomputers and supporting desktop hardware/software required.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: CompTIA A+, Dell Hardware, Certification (WPD).
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and written/oral skills. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented. Reliable transportation required for travel to different job sites. Valid driver license is required if using a Carilion owned vehicle.

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
