Role Overview:

Responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on switcher and local locomotives, including:

• Fueling, sanding, and daily inspections
• Preventive maintenance and basic repairs
• Troubleshooting diesel engines, electrical systems, air brake systems
• Field service work in Bronx, NY, using company vehicles
• Maintaining maintenance records and logs
• Ensuring safety and compliance with regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance and safety certifications preferred
• Knowledge of basic mechanics and machine testing procedures
• At least one year of experience in diesel engine or electrical repairs
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, good communication
• Ability to operate mechanical and testing equipment, including MS Office

Work Environment:

Travel within Bronx, NY, for field service duties. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Complete documentation and communicate effectively with team members and management.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly rate between $24.00 - $27.00, based on experience and skills. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement plans. Employment contingent on legal work authorization, drug screening, and fitness for duty.
