Field Services Intern

The Field Services Intern will work as a member of a project management team on multiple projects for CTDOT. The position includes review of plans, specifications, schedules, estimate and quantity take‑offs for projects of various sizes and complexity. The Field Services group engages in several disciplines including highway & local roadway construction, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage & grading, utility installation, facility upgrades, feasibility studies, and general program management. The ideal candidate will be a self‑motivated individual who exhibits a high level of professionalism while performing construction management assignments. All work within this group is based at the respective field office located in Connecticut.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, ability to read, understand, and interpret construction documents.
  • Possess strong problem‑solving, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules, familiarity with scheduling software such as P6, and Microsoft Project.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PMIS systems. Possess a demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professional programs.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
