Job summary

C-RAD is expanding its EMEA-based Service team with an open Field Service Engineer position covering the DACH region (primarily Germany). You will perform installations and maintenance on radiation therapy products, travel across the EU, and support customers from a home office.

This role suits hands-on engineers who enjoy problem-solving and independent site work. You will plan and execute installations, provide on-site service and preventive maintenance, and deliver remote support.

Qualifications

  • Medical device or radiotherapy experience is beneficial but not required; emphasis on troubleshooting, technical curiosity, comfort with computers and hands-on work
  • Practical, hands-on experience with Windows-based systems and IT/networking tasks, including configuration, installation and diagnostics
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical or IT), or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English; French is an advantage; valid driver’s license and passport
  • Able to safely work on ladders, above ceilings, and lift up to 20 kg

We develop, manufacture, and sell innovative solutions to healthcare customers, with a focus on patient positioning, monitoring, and imaging within Radiation Therapy (RT). We are a market leader in the field of optical patient positioning and surface tracking.

Our products enable precision treatments through positioning and monitoring of patients in radiation therapy, which maximizes the dose in tumors and minimizes the dose in surrounding tissues. Our products support all major Photon and Proton therapy systems.

About the opportunity

As a Field Service Engineer at C-RAD, you will perform installations and maintenance on radiation therapy products, with EMEA as your home region and regular travel across the European Union and neighboring countries.

You will plan and execute installations and customer acceptance, perform on-site service and preventive maintenance, and provide remote customer support from your home office.

This role is well suited to engineers who enjoy hands‑on troubleshooting, travel, and completing complex installations independently.

Responsibilities and tasks
  • Prepare and execute installations, service, and support activities in line with company procedures and routines
  • Diagnose system or technical issues and determine appropriate solutions
  • Provide basic customer technical training related to products
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Document service calls, cases, and reports in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures
  • Provide remote customer support as part of a rotating on‑call schedule during business hours, with some schedule flexibility
Qualifications and experience
  • Medical device or radiotherapy experience is beneficial but not required; greater emphasis is placed on strong troubleshooting skills, technical curiosity, comfort with computers and hands‑on work, and the persistence to fully resolve issues
  • Practical, hands‑on experience with Windows‑based systems and IT/networking tasks, including system configuration, hardware and software installation and troubleshooting, network connectivity, and diagnostics
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical or IT), or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to safely work on ladders, above suspended ceilings, and occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 20 kg
  • Fluent in German and proficient in English, both written and spoken; French is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligible for passport

  • Expectation of a proactive, self‑directed approach to learning through hands‑on experience, documentation review, and problem‑solving in the field
