Job summary

Andritz is seeking a skilled field service technician to perform mechanical repair, startup, and training of equipment at customer sites and in-house. You will fabricate, modify, and repair structural components, read engineering drawings, and ensure safe, high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities include on-site welding, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineers, production staff, and customers. Must travel up to 85% annually and maintain equipment and records.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Basic welding and fabrication knowledge (MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Core).
• Knowledge of metal cutting, fitting, grinding, and assembly practices.
• Mechanical and process knowledge of Andritz-manufactured equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical service, installation verification, startup, troubleshooting, repair, welding, and fabrication on Andritz-supplied equipment at customer facilities and in-house.
• Fabricate, modify, repair, and rebuild structural steel and mechanical components using approved welding processes.
• Read blueprints and weld symbols to assemble and repair components.
• Coordinate field service and repair activities with customers to ensure safe, efficient project execution.
• Perform field welding, maintenance, and emergency repair work during installations and service calls.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards and proper PPE usage.
