Job summary

IEM in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Field Service Technical Trainer to support onboarding and technical readiness of entry-level field service staff, delivering structured training on electrical systems, startup, commissioning, software tools, safety, and related field operations.

You will conduct 4-week orientation, coordinate practical exercises, assess progress, maintain training records, and collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership to improve programs.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in electrical industry or field service.
• Experience in training, teaching, or facilitating employee learning preferred.
• Ability to engage and support trainees with varying learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training for new and existing Field Service employees.
• Manage the 4-week new hire orientation schedule.
• Provide instruction on electrical systems, startup testing, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct classroom and hands-on training activities.
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain training records and coordinate program improvements.
